Pipe threads naturally have a leak path that follows the root of the thread, so it must be sealed.  We only use and recommend Loctite 567.  Some of our customers choose to use Permatex 80631 or PTFE tape, but we strongly recommend Loctite 567.  Do not use Permatex 85420, as it is not a thread sealant and will leak on pipe threads.
